Task Day 31 January 2026

Back to work in 2026!

For our first task day of the year we were blessed with good winter weather, and ground conditions perfect for removing self-seeded saplings which were drowning out other species. We did a huge clear up of the beds where snowdrops are in full flower and other bulbs are starting to push through. We also cut back a lot of dead shoots, tidied up the pampas grass and cut back the cat mint on the round bed to allow other plants to thrive later in the year. There's also always lots of other things to do like cleaning graffiti off bins, and removing some rubbish like supermarket trolleys!
